Dear, Dear Someone, _
I'm sharing today's audio message that speaks to the heart of those feeling alone and searching for connection in potentially harmful places. It's a letter of caution, wisdom, and love that I originally shared here:
Key Message:
Be careful not to start a relationship where someone's mental health becomes your responsibility. Be careful, not because their relapse or self-destructive habits make them a bad person or a disappointment, but again, because you are not their therapist and it's not fair for them to treat you as such.
Today, if you are in a relationship where you are struggling to please anyone, where you lack peace of mind—the kind that only God can give—where you are never appreciated, and where you are told that you are responsible for how they act, then it's okay to take a step back and put your own mental health first. That doesn't make you selfish.
