It's time to stop making excuses for their behaviour, you that have been treated poorly just for loving them. It is time to stop struggling with which part of you wants you to keep holding on and which part of you wants you to let go of them because of their half-hearted promises and inconsistent gestures.
You can't keep making excuses for someone who claims to love you but never asks how you're doing. It's hard to comprehend how they can insist that they can't live without you yet seem annoyed when you try to connect with them. It's difficult to understand how they say they miss you but fail to express it with a simple, heartfelt greeting. And it's confusing when they tell you that you're the best thing in their life yet make you feel like your struggles are an inconvenience to them.
