Dear Someone: I have tons of “what if’s” going through my head right now.
This week in Letters of Woe
Dear Someone,
In today's Mixed Mailbag I have carefully curated a few bite-sized quotes from Letters of Woe. Described by some as "a powerhouse for broken hearts", Letters of Woe is a collection of writings ranging from heartbreak to struggling to let go of lost love to longing for love, will help you breathe deeply, move calmly, and be present in the moment no matter the situation you find yourself in.
Nothing lasts—not even your thoughts or the thoughts of others. Stop wasting your time looking for them. Stop looking for someone to fix you.
World of Endings
Letters of Woe
I fought hard to keep her, but I couldn't, and when she became a risk to me, I decided to call it quits. I left the relationship not because I didn't love her; in fact, I still do. I left because she was becoming a risk to me.
To move away from the trauma, I decided to start loving the unlovable. I was no longer looking for a perfect match. I started looking for someone who I felt didn't deserve my love. It was only then that I found peace of mind. It was only then that I found the peace that only God can give.
World of Encumber
Letters of Woe
Just because they're calling you non-stop doesn't mean they have changed who they are. Actions speak louder than words. Let their behaviour be your answer. Be confident in moving on with no hard feelings or resentment. What goes around eventually comes around. Your soul knows when something is real, authentic, and true. No matter what they try to tell you, trust your intuition and know when the vibes are off. Trust your intuition, and do what is good for you. Choose to validate yourself instead of relying on them to do it for you.
World of Entitlement
Letters of Woe
Take your time to mourn, but do so in such a way that it will bring you some comfort and encouragement. Take your time to mourn, but do not look for comfort in the wrong places. Take your time to mourn, but also think about moving on. Think about what it looks like and how it will feel, and be positive about the change in your life. Take your time to mourn, but don’t end it by isolating yourself completely from everyone just because you feel you can’t relate to them anymore. People are important; you will need them yourself tomorrow.
World of Elegy
Letters of Woe
No matter what your situation looks like, I want you to know that we are all broken and hurt. We are all praying and asking God for a miracle. We are all wondering how we got it wrong, how we missed it, and how this happened. I want you to know that, in your confusion, God will always be God. In your trials and tribulations, God will always be God. In your quest and journey for a happy ending, God was God, God is God, and God will always be God.
World of Embroilment
Letters of Woe
Stop calling someone who you know is going to hurt you with their words if they respond to your call. If they don't, the pain will most likely be the same, if not worse.
World of Enmity
Letters of Woe
I don't know what you are trying to walk away from as you read this, but whatever it is, please don't look back. Don't look back, even if you stumble a little on your way out of their lives. Love the sound of your feet and walk away from things that are not meant for you. Even if you are hurt and lonely after realising you aren't as important to someone as you thought you were, walk away.
World of Extremism
Letters of Woe
I don't know exactly what you're going through as you read this. I'm not sure what is about to consume you that God has rescued you from. What I do know is that His compassion for you is new every morning. His compassion is the reason their silence didn't eat you up. It is the reason you don't look like what you have been through. It is for this reason that He is working with you to help you become the best version of yourself.
Today, as you come to terms with the fact that there is more to you than your struggles, your wrongdoings, your past, and your present, may God's compassion for you fail not. May they be new every morning.
