You call your situation love, but I call it manipulation and a suffocating experience. You call it a complicated relationship and devotion, but I call it a misguided notion of commitment that has led you to a silent, enduring hell. You call it commitment, but I call it a misconstrued dedication that is nothing short of living in bondage, constrained by the invisible chains forged by the one you mistakenly consider your partner.
While you are blind to their true intentions and emotional abuse, the universe is not. While you are daily justifying their abuse, I am here saying to you that you deserve so much better than this. I am here saying to you: choose yourself. An apology without change is manipulation. An "I love you" without action or respect is meaningless. It is a lie. A promise without follow-through is empty.
